When G&L closed its doors in October 2025, MIRC obtained the remaining inventory. This instrument is one of the final production models to come off the G&L line in Fullerton, California.
The G&L CLF Research S-500 blends styling from Leo Fender's original CLF lab with enhanced modern performance and an unparalleled tonal range. This model features a classic-contoured alder body in a Cherryburst finish with a 3-ply black pickguard, perfectly complemented by a smooth maple fingerboard on a 25.5-inch scale neck. Its incredible versatility comes from a trio of modified G&L Magnetic Field Design single-coil pickups. These unique pickups deliver a bright, highly articulate top-end and a focused bottom-end, offering a broader, more sophisticated sound than traditional single-coils.
